IN the course of his residence last summer in a village where he was officiating minister for the time, the Author had occasion to press upon the attention of some of the Parishioners the obligation to receive the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper. He has since revised the arguments by which he then succeeded in rousing the apathy or removing the scruples of several, and inducing them to become Communicants. He has endeavoured to preserve the same simplicity of language by which he then made himself understood; and offers the result of this revision to his brethren in the ministry and to the other members of the Church of England, in the humble hope, that this homely reasoning may be successful, even in some cases, where more elaborate and eloquent treatises might fail of effect.
