So it was

Resolved, That the Senate advise and consent to the appointment of George W. Lane, agreeably to the nomination.

On motion by Mr. Doolittle, He had leave to withdraw the motion submitted the 19th inst. to reconsider the vote of the Senate, on the resolution of the Senate of the lith inst. advising and consenting to the articles of agreement and con. vention made and concluded at Washington City on the 15th of April, 1859, between the United States and certain chiefs and delegates repsenting the Winnebago tribe of Indians.

On notion by 31r. King, The Senate proceeded to consider bis motion submitted the 27th inst.. to'reconsider the vote of the Senate of the 27th inst. advising and consenting to the appointment of Joseph G. Swift ; and

On the question to reconsider the said vote?
It was determined in the affirmative.

Mr. Grimes, from the Committee on the District of Columbia, to whom was referred, the 25th inst., the nomination of Samuel Irury, reported.

Whereupon

Resolved, That the Senate advise and consent to the appointment of Samuel Drury, agreeably to the nomination.
