unto him, How can these things ki Ye chízon kyúnkar ho saktí be? hain?

10 Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?

11 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.

12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?

13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.

14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

18 He that believeth on him

10 Psá ne jawab diyá, ki Tá Isráíl ká ustád hoke ye báten nahíp jántá?

11 Main tujh se sach sach kahta hún, ki Jo ham jante hain, so kahte hain, aur jise ham ne dekha hai, us par gawáhí dete hain; tad bhí tum hamári gawáhí qabúl nahin karte.

12 Jab main ne tumhen zamín kí báten kahín, aur tum sach nahín mánte, to agar main tumhen ásmán kí báten kahún, to kyúnkar sach mánoge?

14 Aur jaisá ki Músáne sámp ko jangal men úncháí par rakkhá, usí tarah se zarúr hai ki ádam ká Farzand uṭháyá jáe:

15 Táki jo koí uspar ímán láwe, so halák na howe, par hamesha kí zindagí páwe.

16 ¶ Kyúnki Khudá ne dunyá ko aisá piyár kiyá hai, ki us ne apná iklautá Farzand dediyá, táki jo koí us par ímán láwe, so halák na howe, par hamesha kí zindagí páwe.

17 Kyunki Khuda ne apne Farzand ko dunyá men isliye nahin bhejá, ki dunyá ko taqsírwar thahráwe; par isliye ki dunyá us se naját páwe.

18 Jo uspar ímán látá hai,

is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

22 After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judea; and there he tarried with them, and baptized. 23 And John also was baptizing in Ænon near to Salem, because there was much water there and they came, and were baptized.

:

24 For John was not yet cast into prison.

25¶Then there arose a question between some of John's disciples and the Jews about purifying.

26 And they came unto John, and said unto him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou barest witness, behold, the same baptizeth, and all men come to him.

27 John answered and said, A

21 Par jo sachcháí par chaltá hai, so unjiyále ke pás átá hai, táki khul jáen, ki us ke kám Khudá ko pasand hain.

22 Is ke pichhe Isá aur us ke shagird Yahúdiya ke mulk men aye; jahán wuh un ke sath rahá, aur Baptism diya kiya.

23 Aur Yahiyá bhí Sálim ke nazdík Ainon men Báptism detá thá, kyúnki wahan bahut pání thá, aur log wahán á áke Baptism payá karte the.

24 Kyunki Yahiya abtak qaid men dálá na gayá thá.

25 ¶ Tab Yahiyá ke shagirdon aur Yahidíon men pák hone ki bábat takrár húí.

26 Tab unhon ne Yahiya ke pás áke kahá, ki Ai Ustád, jo Ardan ke nazdík áp ke sáth thá, jis kí bábat áp ne gawáhí dí, dekh, wh ab Baptism detá hai, aur log us ke pás jamą hote hain.

27 Yahiya ne jawab diya, ki

man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.

28 Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him.

29 He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled. 30 He must increase, but I must decrease.

31 He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth he that cometh from heaven is above all.

32 And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony.

33 He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true.

34 For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.

35 The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.

36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

29 Jis kí dulhan hai, so dúlhá hai: par dúlhe ká dost jo khaṛá hai, aur us kí suntá hai, dúlhe kí áwáz se bahut khush hotá hai: meri yih khushí párí huí.

30 Zarúr hai ki wub barhe, aur main ghatún.

31 Jo úpar se átá hai, so sab se bará hai: jo khák se hai, so khákí hai, aur khák kí kahtá hai: jo ásmán se átá hai, so sab se baṛá hai.

32 Aur jo kuchh us ne dekhá aur suná hai, wuh us ki gawábí deta hai; tad bhí us kí gawáhí koi qabul nahin kartá.

33 Par jis ne us ki gawáhí qabúl kí hai, us ne muhr kí hai, ki Khudá sachchá hai.

34 Kyunki jise Khuda ne bhejá hai, so Khudá kí báten kahtá hai: kyúnki Khudá nápke use Rúh nahin detá.

35 Báp Farzand ko piyár kartá hai, aur sab chizen us ke háth men dí hain.

36 Jo ki Farzand par ímán látá hai, so hamesha kí zindagí rakhtá hai aur jo Farzand ímán par nahín látá, so zindagi ko na dekhegá; par Khudá ká ghazab us par rahta hai.

CHAPTER IV.

1 When therefore the Lord knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John, 2 (Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,)

3 He left Judea, and departed again into Galilee.

4 And he must needs go through Samaria.

5 Then cometh he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.

6 Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour.

7 There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink. 8 (For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.)

9 Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.

10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living

water.

CHAUTHA BAB.

1 Aur jab Khudáwand ne jáná, ki Farísíon ne suná, ki sá Yahiyá se ziyáda shágird kartá hai, aur Baptism detá hai, 2 (Agarchi sá nahín, par us ke shagird Baptism dete the,) 3 Tab wuh Yahudiya ko chhoṛke Jalil ko phir gayá.

4 Aur use Sámara se hoke jáná zarur thá.

5 Tab wub Sámariya kí ek basti men, jo Súkhár kahlátí hai, us zamín ke nazdík, jo Yaqib ne apne bete Yusuf ko dí thí, áy.

6 Aur Yaqub ká kúá wahín thá. So Isá chalte chalte thak gayá, aur us kúe par já baiṭhá: yih do pahr ká waqt thá.

8 (Kyunki us ke shagird bastí men gae the, ki kuchh kháne ke liye mol len.)

9 Tab Sámara kí us aurat ne use kahá, ki Tú Yahúdí hoke kyúnkar mujh Sámara kí șurat se pání píne ko mángtá hai? kyúnki Yahúdí Sámaríon se beohár nahin karte.

10 sá ne jawáb diyá, ki Agar tú Khudá kí bakhshish ko, aur us ko pahchántí, jo tujh se pání mángtá hai; to tú use mángtí, aur wuh tujhe jítá pání detá.

11 The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?

12 Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?

13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:

14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

15 The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.

16 Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.

17 The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband:

18 For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband; in that saidst thou truly.

19 The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.

20 Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.

11 Us aurat ne use kahá, ki Ai sáhib, áp ke pás pání khenchne ko kuchh nahín, aur kúá gahṛá hai: phir áp ke pás wuh jítá pání kahán se hai ?

12 Kyá áp hamáre báp Yạqúb se bhí bare hain, jis ne hamen yih kúá diyá, aur us ne áp, aur us ke larkon ne, aur us ke jánwáron ne is se piyá ?

13 Įsá ne jawab diyá, ki Jo koí yih pání pítá hai, so phir pyásá hogá:

14 Par jo koi mere diye hie pání ko pítá hai, so kabhí pyásá na hogá; magar jo pání main use dúngá, so us men pání ká ek sotá ho jáegá, jo hamesha kí zindagi tak bahtá rahega.

18 Kyunki tú pánch kháwind karchuki hai; aur wuh, jo ab tú rakhtí hai, so terá kháwind nahín hai: tú ne is men sach kahá.

20 Hamáre báp dádon ne is pahár par bandagí kí, aur áp log kahte hain, ki Aursbalím men wuh jagah hai, jahán logon ko bandagi karna chahiye.
