SPECIAL INTERCESSIONS AND

THANKSGIVINGS

(All.)

For the Church

ESUS lifted up His eyes to Heaven and said, Holy FATHER, keep through Thine own Name those whom Thou hast given Me, that they may be

One, as We are.

There is One BODY, and One SPIRIT,

Ry One LORD, One FAITH, One BAPTISM.

Let us pray.

GOD, the FATHER of our Lord Jesus Christ, our only SAVIOUR, the PRINCE OF PEACE, give us grace seriously to lay to heart the great dangers we are in by our unhappy divisions. Take away all hatred and prejudice, and whatsoever else may hinder us from godly union and concord; that, as there is but One BODY, and One SPIRIT, and One HOPE of our CALLING, One LORD, One FAITH, One BAPTISM, One GOD and FATHER of us all, so we may henceforth be all of one heart and of one soul, united in one holy bond of Truth and Peace, of Faith and Charity, and may with one mind and one mouth glorify Thee; through JESUS CHRIST, our LORD. Amen.

(All.)

For the Clergy

ESUS called His twelve Disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.

And He sent them to preach the kingdom of GOD, R And to heal the sick.

L

Let us pray.

ORD GOD of powers, do Thou sanctify the Pastors and Prelates of Thy sheep; that our adversary the devil, overcome by their faith and holiness, may not dare to touch or violate the flock of the LORD; through the same our LORD JESUS CHRIST. Amen.

(All.)

For the Household

ORD, lift Thou up the Light of Thy Countenance upon us.

If GOD be for us,

R Who can be against us?

Let us pray.

EAR us, Holy LORD, FATHER Almighty, Everlasting

HEARD, and be pleased to send Thy Holy Angel from

Heaven, to guard, cherish, protect, visit, and defend all who dwell in this habitation; through JESUS CHRIST, our LORD. Amen.

Let us pray.

LORD, Heavenly FATHER, we would commemorate this day Thine Infinite goodness to Thy servant N., who, when born in sin, and no other than an heir of everlasting wrath, didst vouchsafe that he should, as upon this day, be born again of water and the HOLY SPIRIT and be made an heir of Eternal Life; we humbly beseech Thee, of Thy great goodness, to pardon all his former breaches of the solemn promise then made for him, and so to endue him with Thy HOLY SPIRIT, that henceforth he may walk in newness of life, and keeping

himself unspotted from the world, may die daily unto sin; and as he hath part in the first regeneration, so at the last day he may also have part in that second regeneration, when the SON OF MAN shall sit upon His Throne, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. Amen.

LMIGHTY GOD, Fountain of all goodness and Wellspring of all Divine graces, Who hast vouchsafed to regenerate us, being born in sin, by water and the HOLY GHOST in the blessed laver of Baptism, thereby receiving us into the number of Thine elect children, and making us heirs of everlasting life; look down, we beseech Thee, on Thy servant N. who now desires to take upon himself that solemn vow, promise, and profession, then made for him; fulfil him with the seven-fold gifts of Thy HOLY SPIRIT-the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and ghostly strength, the Spirit of knowledge and true godliness, and the Spirit of Thy most Holy Fear; even through Him Who sent down the SPIRIT upon His CHURCH, JESUS CHRIST, our LORD. Let Thy Fatherly Hand ever be over him, let Thy HOLY SPIRIT ever be with him, and so lead him in the knowledge and obedience of Thy Word, that in the end he may obtain everlasting life through JESUS CHRIST, our LORD. Let us pray.

SWEET JESU, hear us while we call to remembrance Thy Words of loving invitation, "Come unto Me, all ye that are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest ;" stretch out the hand of Thy welcome to Thy servant N. who now for the first time seeks to draw to Thine Altar, and partake of that Bread which is Thy Body, and that Wine which is Thy Blood. May he come, weary of this world's unsatisfying meats, heavy laden with the burden of many sins, too heavy for him to bear; and seeking that Meat which is above, may he find in Thee refreshment, pardon, peace; and, strengthened
