Morning Prayer.

in them. Preserve them from the Perils of the Seas, from the Efforts of the Enemy, and from the danger of disease in distant Climates; that they may return in safety, and crowned, if it be Thy good pleasure, with success in their Enterprizes, to enjoy the blessings of their native Land; and with thankful remembrance of Thy mercies, to unite with us in rendering praise and glory to Thy holy Name, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Then the General Thanksgiving, with the following.

ALMIGHTY GOD, and most merciful Father, we Thy humble servants acknow ledge with thankful hearts Thy great goodness in the late glorious success which Thou hast vouchsafed unto the Fleet of our Sovereign over the combined armaments of France and Spain. While we bear in our remembrance the skill and intrepidity of those who fight our battles, we confess that they are but instruments in Thy hands, and that Thou dost direct them according to the unsearchable Purposes of Thy will. The wisdom and the strength of man are Thine: the winds and the waves are obedient to Thy voice. Through Thee we have done great acts; Thou hast shewn us wonderful things in Thy righteousness. Thine, O Lord, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty; for all that is in the Heaven and in the Earth is Thine; Thine is the Kingdom, O Lord, and thou art exalted as head above all.

Prosper, we beseech Thee, the earnest endeavours of our Sovereign for the good of this Nation, for the common Welfare of Europe, and for the preservation of our Holy Faith. Continue

Communion Service.

The Gospel. St. Matthew, 5. Verse 43 to the end:

YE have heard, that it hath been said. Thou

shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy: But I say unto you; Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you: That ye may be the children of your Father which is in Heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do you more than others? do not even the publicans so? Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in Heaven is perfect.

Then shall follow the Nicene Creed; and after that the Sermon. In the Offertory shall this Sentence be read.

L

ET your Light so shine before Men, that

they may see your good Works, and glorify your Father which is in Heaven.

After the Prayer for the whole state of Christ's Church this Collect following shall be used.

"O Almighty Lord, and everlasting God," &c. "The Peace of God," &c.

FINIS.
