23 ¶ Now when he was in Jerusalem at the Passover, in the feast day, many believed in his lame, when they saw the miracles which he did. 24 But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men."1

25 And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.

THERE was a man of the Pharisees, named 'Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:

11 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, *We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye 'receive not our witness.

12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
