Only thy restless heart keep still,
And wait in cheerful hope, content,
To take whate'er his gracious will

His all-discerning love hath sent :
Doubt not our inmost wants are known,
To him who chose us for his own.

Sing, pray, and swerve not from his ways, But do thine own part faithfully;

Trust his rich promises of grace,

So shall they be fulfilled in thee:
God never yet forsook at need
The soul that trusted him indeed.

HYMN LXXVII.

LORD, I am thine, but thou wilt prove
My faith, my patience, and my love;
When cruel foes against me join,
They are the sword, the hand is thine.

Their hope and portion lies below, "Tis all the happiness they know;

'Tis all they seek-they take their shares, And leave the rest among their heirs.

What sinners value I resign;
Lord, 'tis enough that thou art mine;
I shall behold thy blissful face,
And stand complete in righteousness.

This life's a dream, an empty show;
But the bright world to which I

go

Hath joys substantial and sincere,
When shall I wake, and find me there?

O glorious hour! O blest abode !
I shall be near and like my God!
And flesh and sin no more control
The sacred pleasures of the soul.

My flesh shall slumber in the ground,
Till the last trumpet's joyful sound;

Then burst the chains with sweet surprise,
And in my Saviour's image rise.

HYMN LXXVIII.

My Shepherd will supply my need,
Jehovah is his name;

In pastures fresh he makes me feed
Beside the living stream.

He brings my wandering spirit back,
When I forsake his ways;
And leads me for his mercy's sake
In paths of truth and grace.

When I walk through the shades of death,
Thy presence is my stay:
A word of thy supporting breath

Drives all my fears away.

Thy hand, in sight of all

my foes,

Doth still my table spread:

My cup with blessings overflows,
Thine oil anoints my head.
