The undersigned was very reluctantly compelled to resign this parish some months since on account of the state of his voice, and for the same reason is still under the necessity of refraining, except occasionally, from the discharge of the public duties of the ministry. By opening the west end of the church, and by the erection of a commodious chancel and vestry room, the entire building has been greatly improved; new seats, doors and shutters have also been added, and the whole church painted. The ladies of the parish are now engaged in the commendable work of furnishing the chancel with new carpeting, chairs, &c. During these repairs, the Divine services in the church were intermitted for some considerable period, and the Sunday Communion Offerings are, in consequence, much smaller this year than usual. While gratified in reporting these improvements to the material edifice, the Rector trusts that something also has been done, by the ministration of the Word and Sacraments, towards the advancement among his parishioners, of true piety and sincere attachment to the doctrines and worship of the Church.
