eight, or who shall hereafter be named or appointed Commiffioners for putting in Execution any other Act or Acts of Parliament for granting an Aid to His Majefty, His Heirs or Succeffors, by a Land Tax in Great Britain, or any Act of the prefent or any future Seffion for continuing the fame, fhall be Commiffioners for executing this Act with relation to the Rates and Duties hereby granted, and the Powers herein contained, in all and every the Counties, Ridings, Divisions, Shires, Stewartries, Cities, Boroughs, Cinque Ports, Towns, and Places respectively within the Kingdom of Great Britain, and the feveral Surveyors and Infpectors, Affeffors and Collectors, refpectively appointed to put in Execution any of the faid Acts relative to the said Rates or Duties hereby repealed, and the feveral Perfons who shall be hereafter appointed Infpectors, Surveyors, Affeffors, or Collectors refpectively, by virtue

of

of the Powers contained in the fe veral Acts of Parliament now in Force relative to the faid Rates and Duties hereby repealed, (and which. Powers are hereby declared to continue in Force for the Purposes of this Act), or by virtue of the Powers contained in this Act, or any other Act paffed or to be paffed in this prefent Seffion of Parliament, fhall be Surveyors, Infpectors, Affeffors, and Collectors, to put in Execution the present Act with relation to the Duties hereby granted, according to the Powers given to them refpectively by the faid Acts, or any of them, (and not hereby altered), or by this Act; and the faid Commiffioners, and other the Perfons qualified to act in the Execution of any of the faid Acts, fhall, and they are hereby refpectively empowered and required to do all Things neceffary for putting this Act in Execution with relation to the Rates and Duties hereby granted as before-mentioned, in the like

like and in as full and ample a Manner as they, or any of them, are or is authorized to put in Execution the faid Acts relative to the faid Rates and Duties hereby repealed, or any Matters or Things therein refpectively contained.

XVI. And be it further enacted, That within the Bills of Mortality, the Parishes of Saint-Mary-le-bone and Saint Pancras, in the County of Middlefex, the Appointment of Collectors of the Rates and Duties

hereby granted, fhall belong wholly to fuch of the Commiffioners for executing this Act, who fhall re-、 fide in the Parishes for which fuch Collectors refpectively are to be appointed, in cafe there fhall be Two or more Commiffioners there refident, and no other Commif fioners fhall in fuch Cafe interfere; and it shall be lawful for the faid Commiffioners for executing this Act, and refiding within the refpective Parishes as aforefaid, to appoint fuch Perfons to be Collectors,

lectors, who shall have given Security to the Satisfaction of the Churchwardens and Overfeers, or Guardians of the Poor, or any Two or more of them, or any Seven or more of the Veftry, where a felect Veftry fhall be appointed as aforefaid, and who fhall be thought by the faid Commiffioners to be of Ability to execute the Office of Collector; and that in Default of appointing fuch Perfons who fhall have given fuch Security, then the faid Commiffioners refiding as aforefaid, fhall name fuch Perfons as they fhall think of Ability to execute the faid Office: Provided always, that where Two or more Commiffioners (hall not be refident in any Parish for which Collectors are to be appointed, then a Commiffioner or Commiffioners refiding in any adjacent Parish, may concur in the Appointment of fuch Collectors.

under the Ma- Duties by this Act granted, shall feverally and refpectively be affeffed, raifed, levied, collected, and received, in fuch and the like Form and Manner, and with fuch Penalties, Forfeitures, and Disabilities, and according to fuch Rules, Methods, and Directions, as are prefcribed and appointed by any Act or Acts now in Force, for affeffing, raising, levying, collecting, receiving, and paying the Rates and Duties upon Houfes, Windows, and Lights, and upon Inhabited Houses, hereby repealed, or any other Duties under the Management of the Commisfioners for the Affairs of Taxes, as far as the fame were in Force at and immediately before the Time of paffing this Act, and are applicable to the feveral and refpective Rates and Duties hereby granted, or any of them, and are not altered by this Act; except all Claufes of Exemption as are contained in any of the faid Acts of the Sixth, Twentyfourth, and Thirty-feventh Years of
