The peer reviewed results of the presentations offered at a workshop (Subtropical and Tropical Seagrass Management Ecology: Responses to Environmental Stress) held in October 1998 in Fort Myers, Florida, comprise this book. A total of 22 original research and review chapters are organized around four major themes: ecology and physiology, monitoring and trends, management, and restoration. Overall, the book serves to bring together the latest research results in seagrass management ecology from the combined perspective of both scientific and environmental management communities.
