It is not from any vanity that I call it a favoured work; but that a Legal work should have reached its eighth edition, in a comparatively short time, and in the life-time of its author, is at least a good test of the favour and estimation in which it is holden by those who commonly use it, namely, the Magistracy, the Profession, the Guardians of the Poor, and the Parish Officers.
