Ad hanc curiam ordinat est p totu homag ut sequit", viz. whereas the tennants of Rough Hampton and Putney have used tyme out of minde to have a foote waie throughe Putney Parke, by the topp of the Hill neere Pickpurse corner, and for that the same waie is not thought so convenient for them, as well by reason of adjoining the Queenes maties game in the saide pke, as for the ease and bennyfitt of the tennant of both ye saide townshipps. It is therefore ordered, as well of Robert Robert Walter Gent., deputie keep of the same pke, as by the assent of most pt of the tennant and in§ Written indistinctly.

General Court, held 6 Oct. 27 Eliz.

It was ordered, that the order before made, for Wymbleton, that they should make their wood into bavens should be void; and that the tenants and inhabitants there, shall carry their wood unmade as formerly; so that they carry it before the first day of June, in each year.

At this Court it was ordered by the whole Homage as follows, viz. [See opposite page.]

habitant of both the said townshipps, that the saide inhabitant in liewe of their ancyent way, shall from henceforth have a convenient waie, by the lodge of the same pke: and shall not from henceforth use theire saide ancient passage, unles they shalbe disturbed of their saide new waie.

Et quod nullus inhabitans de Wymbledon ħens unū virg terr, vel amplius, vel tantù quantu reputat pro virg terr, habebit pastur, in cõib3 campis ibm, pro tempore apperte jacerent, apperte jacerent, ultra muneru‡ tant cattallor pro qualt virgat terr quant p consuetud oportent; sub pena forisfac, pro quolibt difco, [i.e. delicto] iijs iiijd.

Et quod nullus inhabitans de Wymbledon, qui ħere debet, un com boscu, sup le Heath ibm, loppabit, anglice shall loppe, et faciet boscu suū propriu iħm vel portabit boscu pd illigat, sed accipiet idem ut ligabit et disponit sub pena forisfac pro quobit ditco vj š. (m. 6 d.)

The Homage

and that no

It was ordered inhabitant of Wymbledon, having one virgat of land, or more, or as much as is reputed for a virgat of land, shall have pasture in the common fields there, for the time they should lie open, beyond such a number of cattle for each virgat of land, as are meet by the custom; under penalty of forfeiting for each offence, 3s. 4d.

And that no inhabitant of Wymbledon, who ought to have a common wood, upon the heath there, shall lop and make his own wood there, or shall carry the aforesaid wood unbound, but shall take the same, as it shall be bound, and as it is appointed, under penalty of forfeiting for each offence 6s.

And further it is ordered that no inhabitant of Putney or Rokeshampton after this shall carry or cause to be carried any wood amongst furze from off the common, under penalty that each one who shall so act to the contrary, to forfeit for each offence 10s.

And that Thomas Watkinse built a tenement without licence upon Est[s]heane greene being the waste of this manor.
