At the advanced age of 70 years, Mr Maurice Margarot, chairman of the London Corresponding Society. He was sent as a delegate from that Society to the British Convention, which met at Edinburgh for the same object, in the year 1793, where he was accused of sedition, with the whole of the Convention. He was tried before the Court of Justiciary, and sentenced to four. teen years transportation to Botany Bay, with four others. He was the only one of the five who survived the term of his banishment to return home.
