Colonel Trench declared, that he was
most particularly anxious not to treat the
Crown slightingly, but as it was impossible
to occupy Buckingham Palace as a royal
residence, he had made the present pro-
position. He had submitted it to the
noble Lord at the head of the Woods and
Forests, and he saw no difficulty in rea-
lizing a considerable revenue, by appro-
priating the gardens to building, as in the
Regent's Park. He had also consulted
some of those who were at the head of the
Committee of the King's College, and they
appeared to be inclined to listen to such
arrangements as he had proposed.
Motion agreed to, and the Committee
instructed accordingly.
