A Prayer for Repentance and Pardon. O Gracious GOD, our heavenly

Father, who desirest not the death of a sinner, but rather that he may turn from his wickedness and live; and hast

encouraged us to hope for thy mercy upon repentance, and amendment of life; we desire, with our whole hearts, to return to the obedience of thy commandments : may we from henceforth forsake every evil way; correct whatever is wrong in our temper and conduct ; and delight in the practice of every thing good and virtuous ; that we may obtain from thee, the GOD of all mercy, the forgiveness of our fins; and an inheritance among those who are fanctified. Amen.

For religious Wisdom. O Father of lights

, and fountain of knowledge, open the eyes of our minds, and enlighten us with true wifdom: may we have pure and worthy apprehensions of thy nature and providence: lead us to a right understanding of that religion which is acceptable to thee, and recommended to us in the Gospel of thy Son: may we evermore discern, approve, and practice, the things which are excellent; and by a life de

voted to thy service, be prepared for the glorious and everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour JESUS CHRIST. Amen.
