enjoyment of the bounties of thy providence; and may we shew forth thy praise, not only with our lips, but in our lives; by giving up ourselves to thy service, and walking before thee, in holiness and righteousness, all our days. Amen.
For the King. ALMIGHTY GOD, the king of 1 kings, and lord of lords, we humbly beseech thee to send down the choicest of thy blessings upon thy fervant Głorge our king: in wisdom and righteousness, in justice and clemency, may he rule thy people : may all his endeavours to promote the virtue and happiness, and to perpetuate the freedom of his subjects, be crowned with success : may the years of his government be many, prosperous, and happy : may we evermore have reason to rejoice in him, as the minister of thy providence to us for good; and may he at length be rewarded in thy heavenly and everlasting kingdom. we beseech thee to visit, with thine especial favour, our gracious Queen CharLOTTE; the Prince of Wales; the Princess Dowager of Wales ; and all the Royal Family: may they cultivate all those amiable and princely virtues, which will render them the ornaments of their high stations, and extensive blessings to mankind: grant them happiness in this world, and in that which is to come, life everlasting. For the Nobility and Magistrates. M AY it please thee, O GOD, the 11 fountain of all power, to bless the king's counsellors, the nobility, judges, and the whole body of the magistracy of this land : may they do the duties of their stations with understanding and wisdom, with integrity and honour; and under them may we, and all thy people, lead peaceable and quiet lives, in all
godliness and honesty; keeping the unity of the spirit, in the bond of peace, and righteousness of life. Amen.
For the Parliament.

'we intreat thee, in the great council of the nation, at this time in parliament assembled; direct and prosper all their consultations, to the advancement of thy glory; the good of thy church; the safety, honour, and welfare of our sovereign, and his kingdoms: and may all things be so ordered by their endeavours, that peace and liberty, truth and justice, religion and virtue, may be established amongst us, to all generations. Amen.
For the Ministers of Religion. O GOD, the Father of lights, and
fountain of all good, endue the ministers of thy true religion, of every
denomination, and in every part of the Christian world, with the spirit and temper of CHRIST JESUS: may they diligently pursue the good work of instructing the ignorant, and reforming the vicious; and in all the duties of their office may they conduct themselves, not as having dominion over the faith of Christians, but as examples to their flocks; and by the excellency of their doctrines, and the holiness of their lives, may they fave themselves, and those who hear them. Amen.
For those who are in Aflition.
y the GOD of all consolation and good hope, we humbly recommend to thy fatherly goodness, all those who are any-ways afflicted, or distressed, in mind, body, or estate : [those especially for whom our prayers are desired] be thou, in thy great mercy, a father to the fatherless; and the defender of the widow; provide for the poor ; give health to the
fick; and ease to those who are in pain; deliver those who are oppressed ; and comfort those who mourn : support thy faithful servants who are in bonds, or in any manner persecuted for righteousness sake; give them fortitude in the day of trial, and, in due time, a happy deliverance out of all their afflictions. And from the various calamities we meet with in human life, either in ourselves or others, may we learn to pity the diftressed ; to mourn with those who mourn; to be patient under all the appointments of thy providence; and be excited to the pursuit of that happiness, which ariseth from the practice of virtue and religion, and the glorious hope of immortality: and this we ask in the name, and as the disciples of JESUS CHRIST, our Lord and Saviour.
