alted in majesty and power, far above our highest conceptions; yet thou regardest us with the tenderness of a Father, and shewest favour, and lovingkindness to the children of men. We would now offer up unto thee, O GOD, our religious addresses, encouraged by thy goodness, and the gracious promises in the Gospel of thy Son. May we remember thee our Creator, Preserver, and Benefactor, with fear, love, and gratitude ; and worship thee, who art a spirit, in spirit and in truth; that our various services may be acceptable in thy fight, and truly beneficial to our own souls. May we hearken to the reading of thy word, as to the voice of GOD; fing thy praises with understanding and devotion; and hear what shall be delivered for our instruction, with attention, candour and humility ; that by all the means of grace, we may grow wiser and better ; be gradually trained
for thy heavenly kingdom; and at last become partakers of that happiness,
which eye hath not seen, which ear hath not heard, and which it hath not entered into the heart of man to conceive.---These our petitions we present unto thee, in the name, and as the disciples of our LORD and Saviour JESUS CHRIST. Amen.

GOD, we acknowledge and adore fe&tions of thee, the one, true, and living
GOD, who alone art independent and eternal; whose perfections are infinite, and counsels unchangeable; the greatest, wifeft, and best of beings; the confidence and joy
of all those to whom thou haft made thyself known.
By thy power were the heavens Power, created; and all their hosts by the breath of thy mouth: thy hand preserveth them in being; they are the ministers of thy good pleasure.
Thou disposest all things in Wisdom, perfect wisdom; and maintainest the beauty and order of thy works: all creatures are subject to thy direction; and thou assignest them their proper
station and duty. With the highest veneration, we present our addresses to thee, and Good. a Being of almighty power, and unerring wisdom: but in an especial manner do we acknowledge, with unfeigned love, and joyful confidence, thine infinite and everlafting goodness: thou art the fountain of happiness; and thou diffuseft thy blessings through all the works of thy hands. The
heavens declare thy glory ; the earth is full of thy goodness: the day is thine, the night also is thine; and thou makest the morning, and the evening to rejoice
All the works of thy hands, and all the ordinances of thy providence, bear testimony that thou art infinitely great, and wise, and good.
The highest and most exalted angels adore thee, O LORD, who art good, and doest good continually; who art wise in heart, wonderful in counsel, and excellent in working.
We, thine intelligent creatures in this world, join our tribute of joyful praise to thee, O GOD, the sovereign Creator and LORD of all: thou alone art worthy to receive glory, and honour, and praise, from all thy creatures.

Thou hast Creator, created the spirit that is in man; breathed into us the breath of life; and, by thine inspiration, haft given us understanding.
