For the Parliament, when fitting.

LESS, we beseech thee, the high court of Parliament; may all the members of that great affembly be men fearing thee, and hating covetoufness: preside in their counfels; profper their good defigns; and may they wifely difcern, and steadily pursue the true interests of these kingdoms. Amen.

LESS the nobility, and gentry, and all who are in ftations of authority and power; may they employ all their influence to promote righteoufnefs and virtue; become the means of diffufing public and private bleffings; and be faithful stewards of the manifold bounties of thy providence. Amen.

LESS our judges and magistrates; may they dispense justice with impartiality; discountenance profaneness and vice; and be an encouragement and praise to all who do well.

LESS thofe who are rich in this world, with a difpofition to do good may the poor be fober, honest, and diligent in their stations, and confide in thy providence; and may we all be thankful to thee for the bleffings thou art pleased to bestow upon us. Amen.

GOD of mercy, we humbly beg thy favourable regard to all our brethren in affliction: may thy wisdom be their direction; thy power their support; and thy goodness their confidence; and, by a patient behaviour

under their afflictions, and a thankful acknowledgment of all thy mercies, may they be prepared for unmixed happinefs, in a future and better world. Amen.

A general Prayer.

ERCIFULLY regard, O heavenly

ourselves, and for others; continue to us fuch measures of the good things of this life, as thou seest to be best for us: may thy good providence defend us thro' this [day,] or [night,] and through all the future days and nights of our lives; teach us the right use of all our enjoyments; lead us to a wife and careful improvement of all thy mercies; and finally advance us to thy glorious and everlasting kingdom. A concluding Prayer.

GOD, the Father of mercies, and the Father of our LORD JESUS CHRIST, we humbly offer to thy gracious acceptance these our prayers, in

his name: we rejoice that thou hast raised him above men and angels; that thou haft given him a kingdom; and that by him thou haft promised to bestow immortal life and happiness upon all thy faithful fervants: by his instructions and example we defire to govern our lives; and in his form of words we conclude our prayers to thee,

UR Father, who art in heaven; hallowed be thy name: thy kingdom come: thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven: give us this day our daily bread; forgive us our trefpaffes, as we forgive those who trespass against us; lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil: for thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, for ever and ever.
