Reina Whaitiri is a scholar, editor, and researcher on Maori and Pacific literature. She is the co-editor of Homeland: New Writing from America, the Pacific, and Asia; Whetu Moana: Contemporary Polynesian Poems in English; Mauri Ola: Contemporary Polynesian Poems in English; and Puna Wai Korero: An Anthology of Maori Poetry in English. She made the 2015 Aotearoa Maori book awards finalists in the category of Creative Writing with her title Puna Wai Korero which she co-authored with Robert Sullivan.
