Entered according to act of Congress, in the year 1835, by John S. Taylor, in the clerk's office of the district court of the southern district of the State of New-York.

PREFACE.

This volume is designed to be the first of a series for the young. They are to be furnished by different individuals interested in the cause of moral and religious improvement in early life. They hope to blend amusement and instruction, so as to constitute an attractive and useful series.

The first volume is "the Museum," by "Charlotte Elizabeth," an authoress whose works for the young have been extensively circulated in England and Ireland. Some alterations have been made in it, in order to adapt it to youthful readers in this country.

New-York, Dec. 16, 1834.
