THE following Work has already appeared before the Public, under another title (Woman, or Minor Maxims). The present edition, it is hoped, is free from the faults of the former one. It has been carefully revised and corrected, and is now presented to the Public, with better claim to notice. The Work was originally written for the amusement of a home-circle; but the Author could not give it a permanent form, without, at the same time, presenting it to the Public. Fortunate in her associates, she feels that her amiable characters are drawn from Life-her less amiable ones the creatures of Fancy. B 2 |
