2 And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD of hosts, that I will cut off the names of the idols out of the land, and they shall no more be remembered: and also I will cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to pass out of the land.

3 And it shall come to pass, that when any shall yet prophesy, then his father and his mother that begat him shall say unto him, Thou shalt not live; for thou speakest lies in the name of the LORD:

EHOLD, the day of the LORD com

Beth, and thy spoil shall be divided

in the midst of thee.

2 For "I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.

3 Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, "as when he fought in the day of battle."

4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be da very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

5 And ye shall flee to the valley of 8 the mountains; 9 for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.

6 And it shall come to pass in that day, 10 that the light shall not be clear, nor 12 dark:

night: but it shall come to pass, that "at evening time it shall be light. 8 And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be. 9 And the LORD shall be king over alle the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.

17 And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.

18 And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, 4that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the LORD will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles. 19 This shall be the 6punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles..

20 In that day shall there be upon the 7bells of the horses, "HOLINESS UNTO THE LORD; and the pots in the LORD'S house shall be like Pthe bowls before the altar.

21 Yea, every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shall be holiness unto the LORD of hosts: and all they that sacrifice shall come and take of them, and seethe therein and in that day there shall be no more the Canaanite in the house of the LORD of hosts.

master, where is my fear? saith the LORD of hosts unto you, "O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name?

7 Ye 2 offer polluted bread upon mine altar; and ye say, Wherein have we polluted thee? In that ye say, The table of the LORD is contemptible.

8 And if ye offer the blind 3 for sacrifice, is it not evil? and if ye offer the lame and sick, is it not evil? offer it now unto thy governor; will he be pleased with thee, or accept thy person? saith the LORD of hosts.

9 And now, I pray you, beseech 4God that he will be gracious unto us: this hath been 5 by your means: will he regard your persons? saith the LORD of hosts.

11 Judah hath dealt treacherously, and an abomination is committed in Israel and in Jerusalem; for Judah hath profaned the holiness of the LORD which he loved, fand hath married the daughter of a strange god.

12 The LORD will cut off the man that doeth this, 2 the master and the scholar, out of the tabernacles of Jacob, and him that offereth an offering unto the LORD of hosts.

13 And this have ye done again, covering the altar of the LORD with tears, with weeping, and with crying out, insomuch that he regardeth not the offering any more, or receiveth it with good will at your hand.

14 Yet ye say, Wherefore? Because the LORD hath been witness between thee and the wife of thy youth, against whom thou hast dealt treacherously: yet is she thy companion, and the wife of thy covenant,

15 And did not he make one? Yet had he the 5 residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? That he might seek a 6 godly seed. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal 7 treacherously against the wife of his youth.

16 For the LORD, the God of Israel, saith 8 that he hateth 9 putting away: for one covereth violence with his garment, saith the LORD of hosts: therefore take heed to your spirit, that ye deal not treacherously.

17 Ye have wearied the LORD with your words. Yet ye say, Wherein_have we wearied him! When ye say, Every one that doeth evil is good in the sight of the LORD, and he delighteth in them; or, 'Where is the God of judgment?

CHAPTER 3

BEHOLD, I will send "my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even "the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.

2 But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap:

3 And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness. 4 Then shall 9 the offering of Judah and Jerusalem be pleasant unto the LORD, as in the days of old, and as in 15 former years.

CHAPTER 4

OR, behold, the day cometh, "that

shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and "the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.

3 And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.

4 Remember ye w the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments.

5 Behold, I will send you "Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:

6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.
