"THE ROYAL ROUTE."

GLASGOW TO INVERNESS,

Via Kyles of Bute, Ardrishaig, Crinan Canal, Oban, Ballachulish (Glencoe), Fort-William, Banavie, and Caledonian Canal.

ALSO TO

Staffa and Iona, Mull, Skye, Gairloch, Islay,
Lochawe, Strome Ferry, Stornoway, &c.

GLASGOW TO ARDRISHAIG AND OBAN.

S shown in the foregoing time table the far-famed Swift Passenger Steamer, "COLUMBA" or "IONA" sails during Summer from Glasgow every morning, Glasgow (Sunday excepted), at 7 a.m., and from Greenock about 9 a.m., in connection with express trains from London, Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham, Preston, York, Newcastle, Sheffield, Derby, Edinburgh, Glasgow, &c. The sail down the river, will, on a fine morning (especially if it should happen to be high water), amply repay the tourist for getting up an hour earlier than is absolutely necessary, as the steamer can be overtaken at Greenock by trains which leave Glasgow about an hour later.

First of all we have two miles of a Harbour, lined on both sides with vessels of all dimensions, amongst which are the Ocean Steam-Ships of "The Anchor," "The Allan," and "The State" lines. On our right is the Queen's Dock a work of many years' labour, and after a sail of about two miles, which has been gone over slowly, allowing passengers sufficient time to closely inspect the shipping, we arrive at our first stopping place, Partick, Partick situated at the mouth of the Kelvin-a stream celebrated in Scottish song.

Here we take on ooard passengers
