THIS work contains sailing directions for the West Coast of Scotland, from Cape Wrath to the Mull of Galloway, including the islands of Skye, Mull, and the Small isles. These directions are derived from the Admiralty surveys, conducted between the years 1836 and 1866 by Captains F. W. Beechey, C. G. Robinson, H. C. Otter, and E. J. Bedford, of the Royal Navy. The first edition was compiled by Staff Commander G. F. McDougall of the Hydrographical Department, in 1871. The present edition has been revised and corrected by Staff Commander W. H.
