19. Howbeit Jefus fuffered him not, but faith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compaffion on thee.

20. And he departed, and began to publifh in Decapolis, how great things Jefus had done for him; and all men did marvel.

Chap. II.

1. And again he entered into Capernaum, after some days, and it was noised that he was in the house.

2. And straightway many were gathered together, infomuch that there was no room to receive them, no not fo much as about the door; and he preached the word unto them.

3. And they come unto him, bringing one fick of the palfy, which was borne of four.

4. And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was; and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the fick of the palfy lay.

19. And Jefus arofe and followed him; and fo did his disciples.

23. And when Jesus came into the ruler's house, and faw the people, and the minstrels making a noise,

24. He faid unto them, Give place, for the maid is not dead, but fleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn.

23. And befought him greatly, faying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed, and' fhe fhall live.

24. And Jefus went with him, and much people followed him, and thronged him.

35. While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the fynagogue's house certain, which faid, Thy daughter is dead why troubleft thou the mafter any further?

36. As foon as Jefus heard the word that was spoken, he faith unto the ruler of the fynagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.

37. And he fuffered no man to follow him, fave Peter, and James, and John, the brother of James.

38. And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the fynagogue, and feeth the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly.

39. And when he was come in, he faith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? The damfel is not dead, but fleepeth. O 3

25. But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arofe.

26. And the fame hereof went abroad into all that land.

40. And they laughed him to fcorn; but when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damfel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damfel was lying.

41. He took the damfel by the hand, and faid, Talitha Cumi, which is, being interpreted, damfel (I fay unto thee) arise.

42. And ftraightway the damfel arose, and walked, for fhe was of the age of twelve years; and they were aftonished with a great aftonish

ment.

43. And he charged them ftraitly, that no man should know of it, and he commanded that something should be given her to eat.

20. And behold, a woman, which was difeafed with an iffue of blood twelve years

27. When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his gar

ment.

28. For she said, If I may but touch his clothes, I fhall be whole.

29. And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that he was healed of that plague.

30. And Jefus immedidiately knowing in himself, that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the prefs, and faid, Who touched my clothes?

31. And his difciples faid unto him, Thou seeft the multitude thronging thee, and fayeft thou, Who touched me?

32. And he looked round about, to see her that had done this thing.

33. But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.

34. And he faid unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made. thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.
