VERITAS has our best thanks; his hints shall be attended to. A CONSTANT READER will see the trifling mistake to which he so kindly alludes rrected. It was (according to Shakspeare) made by "Austria and France" úpon a much more serious occasion. With respect to the PORTRAIT, See the same man in vigour, in the gout, Alone, in company, in PLACE OF OUT,” . and it will require a good deal of sagacity to discover the same cast of countenance. The review of the Tour through the Islands of ORKNEY, SHETLAND, &c. is ɓ} no means suited to the system of our Magazine. Devoted to fair and liberal eri. ticism, we can never suffer our pages to become the vehicles of private malignity. In our next will be commenced a series of DESCRIPTIONS, REMARKS, ANECDOTES, and SENTIMENTS, which occurred, and arose, during a Voyage from the WEST INDIES, to North America, and thence to ENGLAND, and during the Author's rambles in the two latter countries. We shall take an early opportunity of making some remarks upon a most admirable and useful Work, entitled A TREATISE ON INDIGENCE, &c., by P. Colquhown, LL.D., which is now on the point of publication. VINDICATOR'S Observations on the REASONER, Nos. II and III, which must close the subject; J. F. HERING's Answer to M.; and the Review of the ANTIQUARIAN REPERTORY, shall be inserted in our next. Mr. Mosen will not, we are sure, be offended if we defer his Description of the Great Desert of WESTMINSTER till next month, for want of room. Britannicus, Henry and Arna, Britain's Genius, The Art of Writing Legendary Tales, Icarus, Ode to Wisdom, and many other poetical favours, are received. I'. will find a reinedy for the Hydrophobia recommended. There is no doubt but that many us less dogs are kept: but the Magistrates have less power to repress the evil than he imagines. #.. has our thanks, and we shall be glad to hear from him whenever it may suit his convenience. It were to be wished, that writers of Letters to the Editors would prefix, by way of head, the subjects of their communications. The plan of this Magazine does not admit of long and laboured panegyrics on deceased individuals. Were we to enter on such a field, (in the present state of society,) it would sometimes gouigirtó exclude alinost every other subject. ERRATA in our fast Number': P. 421. For CLANK read CLANK. T. Moony should be read J. Moopy-the same name as John Moody the character in THE PROVOKED HUSBAND which that excellent actor so admirably performed. P. 423.
