PROPER PSALMS. WHIT-SUNDAY. GR Morning Prayer. PSALM xlviii.-Magnus Dominus. REAT is the Lord, and highly to be prais-ed in the city of our God, even up-on his holy hill. 2 The hill of Sion is a fair place, and the joy of the whole earth: upon the north-side lieth the city of the great King; God is well known in her palaces, às a | sure | re- | -fuge. 3 For lo, the kings of the earth thered and gone | by to- | -ge- |-ther. are ga 4 They marvelled to see such | things: they were astonished, and | suddenly cast down. 5 Fear came there upon them, and sor- |-row: as upon a woman | in her | tra- | -vail. 6 Thou shalt break the ships of the | sea: through the | east wind. 7 Like as we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the Lord of hosts, in the city of our | God: God uphòldeth the | same for | e- |-ver. 8 We wait for thy loving-kindness, |O| God: in the midst of thy | tem- | -ple. 9 O God according to thy Name, so is thy pràise unto the world's end thy right hànd is full of righteous- | -ness. 10 Let the mount Sion rejoice, and the daughter of Judah be glad because of thy | judge-ments. II Walk about Sion, and go ròund a- | -bout her and tell the towers there- | -of. : 12 Mark well her bulwarks, set up her | hous-es: that ye may tell them that come | af- | -ter. 13 For this God is our God, for èver and | e-ver: hè shall be our guide | unto death. PSALM lxviii.-Exurgat Deus. LET God arise, and let his enemies be scat ter--ed let them also that hate him flee be- |-fore him. 2 Like as the smoke vanisheth, so shalt thou drive them a- | -way and like as wax melteth at the fire, so let the ungodly pèrish | at the presence of God. 3 But let the righteous be glàd and re- | -joice before God let them àlso be | merry and | joy-ful. 4 O sing unto God, and sing pràises | unto his Name magnify him that rideth upon the heavens, as it were upon an horse; praise him in his Name JAH, ànd re- | -joice be- | -fore him. 5 He is a Father of the fatherless, and defendeth the cause of the | wi- | -dows: even God in his holy habit--a- | -tion. 6 He is the God that maketh men to be of one mind in an house, and bringeth the prisoners out of cap-|-tivi- |-ty: but letteth the runagates -tinue in scarce- --ness. con |
