IN Confequence of the many fatal Accidents, which have happened by Horfes running too near the Pofts, the Stewards of Newmarket Races have caufed the large and fixed Pofts, on the Heath, to be furrounded with Turf-Banks, about five Feet in the Bafe, and floping to the Poft, at the Height of about four Feet; and in other Parts of the Course, particularly where there are Turns, they have adopted the Ufe of fender Pofts, that will break on any trong Preffure, which they earneftly recommend to the Notice of Stewards, and Managers of Races in ge neral.
