tion, that the discovery evidently prevented more serious results."

From the Report of the Northamptonshire Auxiliary Bible Society, read at the second anniversary, it appears, that from June, 1813, to June 1814, there have been issued 1574 bibles and 461 testaments, forming a total of 3808 of both since the establishment of the institution. The Bible associations recommended to adoption in the former report, have been carried into effect with considerable success. The principle of these associations is to encourage contributions of 1d. per week or upwards, from among the poor, till a sufficient sum is raised for the purchase of a Bible, and from this source, sums to a large amount were announced as proceeding from the Bible Associations at Wellingborough, Kettering, and Rowell, independent of the branch societies at the two former places. To the list of branches have been added the united towns of Oundle and Thrapston. From the funds of the society 9501. has been remitted to the parent institution.
