Nathan's message to David.

CHAP. XVIII.

The victories of David. 3 ¶ And it came to pass the same night, for the honour of thy servant? for thou that the word of God came to Nathan, knowest thy servant.

19 O LORD, for thy servant's sake, and

saying, 4 Go and tell David my servant, Thus according to thine own heart, hast thou saith the LORD, Thou shalt not build me done all this greatness, in making known an house to dwell in: all these great things.

5 For I have not dwelt in a house since the day that I brought up Israel unto this day but have gone from tent to tent, and from one tabernacle to another.

20 O LORD, there is none like thee, neither is there any God besides thee, according to all that we have heard with our

ears.

6 Wheresoever I have walked with all 21 And what one nation in the earth is Israel, spake I a word to any of the judges like thy people Israel, whom God went of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my to redeem, to be his own people, to make people, saying, Why have ye not built me thee a name of greatness and terribleness, a house of cedars? by driving out nations from before thy 7 Now therefore thus shalt thou say people, whom thou hast redeemed out of unto my servant David, Thus saith the Egypt?

CHAP. XXIII.

22 And Eleazar died, and had no sons,

8 The sons of Laadan; the chief was Jehiel, and Zetham, and Joel, three.

9 The sons of Shimei; Shelomith, and Haziel, and Haran, three. These were the chief of the fathers of Laadan.

25 For David said, The LORD God of Israel hath given rest unto his people, that they may dwell in Jerusalem for ever;

26 And also unto the Levites: they shall no more carry the tabernacle, nor any vessels of it for the service thereof.

27 For by the last words of David the Levites were numbered from twenty years old and above:

28 Because their office was to wait on the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of the LORD, in the courts, and in the chambers, and in the purifying of all holy things, and the work of the service of the house of God;
