dark valley of the shadow of death; and returning again with a sad and desolate heart, has been supported by the 'God of all consolation.' He would therefore seek to comfort others with the same comforts wherewith he himself has been comforted of God.' May the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, make this effort successful in consoling the hearts of those for whom this little book is prepared.

The Lord's Voice to Weeping Mothers.

THUS saith the LORD, A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping; Rachel weeping for her children refused to be comforted for her children, because they were not.

Thus saith the LORD; Refrain thy voice from weeping, and thine eyes from tears for thy work shall be rewarded, saith the Lord; and they shall come again from the land of the enemy.

And there is hope in thine end, saith the LORD, that thy children shall come again to their own border.-JER. xxxi. 15, 16, 17.

Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.MATT. xix. 14.
