the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils.
1 The devils believe that there is a God, and tremble; and they know Jesus, who he is, the Holy One of God, the Son of the Most High. For with authority he commanded the unclean spirits, and they obeyed him. And when they saw him, they fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God.
? He gave also his disciples power and authority over all devils and unclean spirits, and even the devils were subject unto them, through his name.
Our adversary the devil is come down unto us, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time; and he goeth to and fro in the earth; and walketh up and down in it; as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
This is Beelzebub; the prince and chief of devils; who is also styled the prince and god of this world, the wicked one, the enemy, and tempter of mankind; who had the power of death, till Christ through death destroyed him.
5 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! Thou who saidst, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God, I will be like the Most High: Behold thou art fallen as lightning from heaven.

obedience; and the working of Satan is with all power, and signs, and lying wonders, and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness, in them that perish.
1 The devil was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own : for he is a liar and the father of it.

away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.
1 Sometimes when the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he returneth again, and taketh with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first.
2 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood; but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the daikness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
3 Be sober, be vigilant; lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, the tempter should tempt you also, and so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
4 For Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light; and therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also, viz. false apostles, and deceitful workers, be transformed as the ministers of righteousness.
Behold Satan hath desired to have us, that he may sift us as wheat. Let us therefore watch and pray, that we enter not into temptation; lest Satan should get an advantage of us, and hinder us, in running the race that is set before us.
If we do not give place to the devil, but resist him, stedfast in the faith, he will flee from us. But it is difficult for them to recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

If any man, that is called a brother, be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolator, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner, or such like wicked person; it is so judged and ordered by the apostles, that in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we are gathered together with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, such a one be delivered unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh ; or that he may learn not to blaspheme; that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
Concerning the Duty of Man to God.
ALL the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the Lord: all dominion shall serve and obey him.
* All nations whom thou hast made, shall come and worship before thee, O Lord; and shall glorify thy name.
As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.
None of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live, therefore, or die, we Lord's. And we are not our own; for we are bought

with a price. Let us therefore glorify God in our body, and in our spirit, which are God's.
Let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably; serving him with our spirit in the Gospel of his Son.
Let us also present our bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is our reasonable service.
For the love of Christ constraineth us, who died for all; that they which live, should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
* Wherewith shall I come before the Lord, and bow myself before the High God? Shall I come before him with burnt-offerings, with calves of a year old ? will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, or ten thousands of rivers of oil ? Shall I give my first-born for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? He hath showed thee, O man, what is good : and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
* The grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men; teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world.
The Lord hath desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt-offerings.
