1 Wait for the Lord in the way of his judgments ; for when his judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.

Happy is the man that feareth alway: but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief.

* As for the wicked, there is no fear of God before their eyes. Because they have no changes, therefore they fear not God. * Ye shall not fear other gods.

Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the customs of the people are vain.

* Fear ye not the reproach of men, neither be ye afraid of their revilings. Be ye not afraid of them, nor of their words; nor be dismayed at their looks. I, even I am he, saith the Lord, that comforteth you. Who art thou that thou shouldest be afraid of à man that shall die, and of the son of man who shall be made as grass, and forgettest the Lord thy Maker ?

Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do, being not able to kill the soul; but rather fear him, which after he hath killed, hath power to cast both soul and body into hell.

8 The fear of man bringeth a snare.

soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength. This is the first and great commandment.

'If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be anathema, maranatha.

Grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

* Set your heart and your soul to seek the Lord your God. Delight yourselves in the Lord; and cleave unto him; and choose the things that please him.

O love the Lord all ye his saints; and take delight in approaching to God. Let the desire of your souls be to his name, and to the remembrance of him; and esteem the words of his mouth more than your necessary food.

- Set your affections on things above; and lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven; for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

* Let your conversation be in heaven, from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Be ye followers of God, as dear children; and walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us.

* This is the love of God, that we keep his commandments.

9 If a man love Jesus Christ, he will keep his words. He that loveth him not, keepeth not his sayings.

10 Ye that love the Lord, hate evil.

Love not the world, neither the things which are in the world. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eye, and the pride of life, is not of the Father; but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. And whosoever will be a friend of the world, is the enemy of God: for the friendship of the world is enmity with God.

5 What things are gain to us, those are to be counted loss for Christ. And we are to leave all and to follow him.

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear; because fear hath torment: he that feareth is not made perfect in love.

'Thou shalt love the Lord thy God, and keep his charge, and his statutes, and his judginents, and his commandments, alway.

Thou shalt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and do that which is right in his sight, and serve him in truth with all thy heart.

* You shall walk in all the ways which the Lord your God hath commanded you: you shall not turn aside to the right-hand nor to the left.

* Ye shall not do every man whatsoever is right in his own eyes; but what thing soever the Lord commandeth you, observe to do it. Thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.

* Hereby we do know that we know Jesus Christ, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him: but whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected. Hereby also know we that we are in hiin; who hath said, Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I com

1 Not every one that saith unto Christ, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of his Father which is in heaven.

· Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God.

3 Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; I spake not to your fathers in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burntofferings or sacrifices; but this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and walk ye in all my ways, that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.

Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken, than the fat of rams.

* Be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your ownselves : for if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass; for he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was: but whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work; this man shall be blessed in his deed. For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

6 We ought to obey God rather than men: for we are the servants of the God of heaven and earth.

* No man can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold
