SUBSCRIBERS will perceive that this Number of LA BELLE ASSEMBLEE contains only
One Plale of Fashions; it was intended to give a Correct Representation, on a large scale, of the
INTERIOR OF THE CONSERVATORY AT CARLTON-HOUSE, in which the Royal
Entertainment was lately given in honour of the King's Birth Day, engraven, by permission, from
the Original Design of the Architect, MR. HOPPER, Jun. The extraordinary work and pains
necessary to make it complete, have rendered it impossible to finish it properly in time for publication
in this Number as intended. It may not be too much to assert that the Engraving will be a valuable
enrichment 10 LA BELLE ASSEMBLEE, and will be given in our next Number.
ORIGINAL COMMUNICATIONS, on all interesting subjects, are now admitted into the New
Series of LA BELLE ASSEMBLEE, if written in a chaste and elegant style. Authentic accounts of
Births, Marriages, Deaths, and Provincial Intelligence, possessing any peculiar character, will hereafler
meet with the most respectful attention, and a reason will be assigned in the next successive Numbers for
whatever arlicies may be omitted; but it is requested that all Letters be sent free of Postage.
