Lifts to be tered. 6 Anno Regni decimo nono the Year of our Lord One thoufand seven hundred and forty fix, to enquire, by Examination of Witneffes upon Oath, or other credible Information, into the Number and Situation of the Epifcopal Meeting-houses within their refpective Jurifdictions, and fhall caufe Lifts to made and en- be made of the fame, and to be entered and inferted in a Book which fhall be provided and kept for that Purpose, by the Clerks belonging to their Jurifdictions refpectively, and fhall forthwith tranfmit true Copies tranfmitted to thereof to the Clerk of each each Houfe of Houfe of Parliament, to be laid before the faid Houses refpectively at their next Meeting. And be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That e Copies to be the Clerk of Parliament. Paftors to pro duce Certif cates of their being qualified very Perfon who now is Paftor or by Law. Minister of any Epifcopal Congregation in Scotland, fhall, and he is hereby required, on or before the First Day of September, in Georgii II. Regis. (139).5. 7 in the Year of our Lord One- the fame. within that Jurifdiction; which Contents of the Entry fhall exprefs the Name of Entry. the Minister whom the Certificate concerns, and the Situation and Description of the MeetingHouse where he officiates as Minister or Paftor; Copies of Copies to be fhall Attefted Copies to be af fixed on the Meetinghouse. Fee for the Copies. fhall likewife deliver two attested Copies of fuch Certificate to fuch Paftor or Minifter, One of them to be by him fixed on the Outfide of the Meeting-House where he shall officiate, on or near the Door thereof, and the other in fome confpicuous Place within fuch Meeting-Houfe; for each of which last mentioned Copies, the Sum of Six Pence Sterling fhall be paid, and no more. And be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That King, &c. by every Paftor or Minifter, who rected in the fhall, at any Time after the faid First Day of September, offici ate in any Episcopal MeetingHoufe or Congregation, fhall, as often as he fhall fo officiate, at fome Time during the Exercife of Divine Service in fuch Epifcopal Meeting-Houfe or Congregation, pray for the. King's most Excellent Majefty, His Heirs, or Succeffors, by Name, and for all the Royal Fa Minifters to Name, as di Liturgy. mily, mily, in the fame Form of Words, as His Majefty, His Heirs, or Suc ceffors, and the Royal Family, are or fhall be directed by lawful Authority to be prayed for in the Prayers for the Royal Family, contained in the Liturgy of the Church of England. &c. houses to be And be it further enacted, Paftors not pro That the faid Sheriffs, Stewards, ducing Certifi and their Deputies, and Magi-Qualification, ftrates of Boroughs, fhall be o- Meeting bliged, and they are hereby hut up. ftrictly enjoined and required, immediately after the faid First Day of November, forthwith to shut up, or caufe to be fhut up, the Doors of the MeetingHouses, or other Places where fuch Epifcopal Affemblies or Meetings have been or shall be held, whereof the Paftor or Minister shall not have produced to their Clerks refpectively the Certificate of his having been qualified as aforefaid, or wherein His Majefty, His Heirs, or Suc ceffors, ceffors, and the Royal Family fhall not be prayed for in exprefs Words, in the Manner before directed; and shall not again 100 1. Security give Accefs to the faid Houses, before admit or other Places of Meeting, unted to Accels, til the Proprietor, Tenant or Proprietor, &c. to give Poffeffor thereof shall enact himfelf, with One or more fufficient Sureties, in the Court Books of the faid Sheriff, Steward, or Royal Borough, under the Penalty of One hundred Pounds Sterling Money, to be paid to the faid Judges or Magiftrates, for the Ufe of His Majefty, that he or she shall not permit or fuffer fuch Houfe or Place to be employed or made ufe of as an Epifcopal Meeting-Houfe, by any Paftor or Minifter not qualifying himself as aforefaid, and comforming to the Regulations before mentioned, at any Time thereafter, during fuch Time as he or she fhall continue Proprietor, Tenant, or Poffeffor thereof.
