The House having resolved itself into a Committee on the Act of 3 George IV. c. 60.

Mr. SECRETARY CANNING rose and said-Although, Sir, it would have been very unusual to offer any opposition to your taking the chair for the purpose of resuming the consideration of a subject in committee, in the same form to which the House had already consented, yet I feel bound to offer my thanks for the courtesy of the honourable baronet (Sir E. Knatchbull) and those who act with him, in allowing us at once to enter into an examination of the question, in a manner more convenient and satisfactory than we otherwise could have done, had they persisted in the opposition which they threatened.
