The Canal Fund, as a valuable possession of the State, cannot be estimated in money. It consists of lands granted for the construction of the canals by the State, by companies, and by individuals, remaining unsold; and also of the canals themselves. To this fund also belong a part of the auction duty, the whole of the salt tax, the steam-boat tax, and the canal tolls. Revenue of Canals.
