John. John Cole of Florence-Court, Efq. baptized 12 April 1680, who enjoyed all the estate belonging to the family in the county of Fermanagh, (that part which had been confirmed to his mother's father Sir John Cole, in the barony of Clenawly, being fettled upon her and her heirs, at her marriage with his father) and greatly improved both his own feat, and the town of Enniskillen, by new buildings; fo that many poor families, by his extenfive improvements, were comfortably supported.--He ferved in parliament for the faid borough of Enniskillen, and in 1723 was fheriff of the county of Fermanagh.--In July 1707 purfuant to articles dated 10 of that month, he married firft Florence, only daughter of Sir Bourchier Wrey of Trebitch in Cornwall and Tavistock in Devonshire, Baronet, knight of the bath, member of parliament for the latter county, governor of Sheerness, and colonel of a regiment in the reign of K. William, who died 28 July 1696 (by his wife Florence, daughter of Sir John Rolle of Stevenftone in Devonshire, knight of the bath, ancestor to the Lord Rolle) and by her who died at Dublin, in August 1718, had five fons, and two daughters, viz. John, Bourchier, Michael, William, baptized 21 April 1714, Henry born in June 1716, father of Henry St. George Cole, Efq.; Elizabeth, born 27 October 1712 (married firft to Edward Archdall of Castle-Archdall in the county of Fermanagh, Efq., and fecondly to Byffe Molefworth, Efq. youngest brother to Richard, Viscount Molefworth; and Florence, born in 1714 married to Arthur Newburgh, Efq.-His fecond wife was the daughter of Robert Saunderfon of Caftle-Saunderfon in the county of Cavan, Esq. and dying in July 1726 was fucceeded by his eldest fon

John, John Cole of Florence-Court, born 13 October 1709, Lord fheriff of the county of Fermanagh in 1732, and member Mount- of parliament for the borough of Enniskillen, till 1760, Florence, when his majesty advanced him to the peerage of Ireland by

the title of Baron Mount-Florence, of Florence-Court in county of Fermanagh, for which honour the privy feal bears date at Kensington, 20 August, and the patent 8 September fame year, and 22 October 1761 his lordfhip had his introduction to the house of peers 2.. --In October 1728, he married Elizabeth eldest daughter of Hugh Willoughby Montgomery of Carrow in county of Fermanagh, Efq. and died 30 November 1767, having had iffue by her who died at Bath, in April 1771 two fons and five daughters, viz. William Willoughby.

Arthur Cole-Hamilton, Efq. born 8 August, 1750 feated at Skea in Fermanagh, for which county he served the office of sheriff, and is now one of its reprefentative in parliament. In 1780 he married Letitia daughter and heir to Claudius Hamilton of Mounterlony in county of Tyrone, Efq. and has iffue, Mary-Anne.

Flora-Carolina married 10 December 1755 to William Irvine of Castle-Irvine in county of Fermanagh, Efq. and fhe died 20 October 1757.

Catharine married 6 October 1770 to Richard Brown, Efq. captain in the firft regiment of foot.

William-Willoughby, the present Viscount Enniskillen, was Williamborn in 1736, and 6 May 1756 fet out from Ireland for WilGottingen in the electorate of Hanover; he arrived there loughby, in June, and 10 Auguft following pursued his travels, vifit- Viscount ing the Courts of Berlin, Brunfwic, Drefden, Munich, EnnifkilVenice, Rome, Naples, Florence, Sicily, Pifa, Leghorn, Genoa, Turin and most of the towns in Flanders, till 11 September 1757 when he arrived in London. In 1761 3 he was chofen to parliament for Enniskillen, for which borough he ferved 'till 1767; and 7 March 1768 had his introduction to the house of peers on the death of his father 4, 20 July 1776 he was created Viscount Enniskillen, pursuant to privy feal at St. James's 24 June preceding 5, and by that title took his feat in parliament 14 October 1777 6----3 November 1763 he married Anne, daughter of Galbraith Lowry-Corry, Efq. of Ahenis in county of Tyrone, whofe fon Armar hath been created Lord Belmore, and by her Ladyship hath issue

Lord high Chancellor of Ireland in 1768, his Majesty James, was at the fame time pleased pursuant to his letters from St. Viscount James's, 24 November 1767 1, to create him a peer of Lifford, Ireland, by the title of Baron Lifford of Lifford in county Donegall, for which honour the patent paffed at Dublin 9 January 17682. 273 of which month he took the oaths and his place in the house of peers, as speaker of that house, and alfo as Lord Lifford, and 9 May following " it was refolved by "the lords fpiritual and temporal in parliament affembled, "that an humble addrefs be prefented to his Excellency "the L. L, that his excellency will lay before his majesty "the requeft of this houfe, that he will be graciously pleaf"ed to grant to the lord chancellor the fum of 1000l. " in addition to his customary allowance as fpeaker of this "house, in approbation of his lordship's particular merit " and faithful fervices in that high station during this feffion "of parliament," 4 18 December 1769 the refolution of 9 May 1768 was repeated, but we find 23 December 1769, that "it was ordered by the lords fpiritual and temporal in par"liament affembled, that the refolution of this houfe of " 18 of December inftant, for an addrefs to his excellency "the Lord Lieutenant, to lay before his Majefty the request "of this house to grant to the Lord Chancellor the fum of "one thousand pounds, in addition to his cuftomary allow"ance, be now discharged."

"Refolved, nem. con. by the lords fpiritual and temporal "in parliament affembled, that an humble addrefs be pre"fented to his excellency the Lord Lieutenant, that his "excellency will lay before his Majesty the request of this "houfe,

"in addition to his cuftomary allowance as fpeaker of this
«house, in approbation of his Lordship's particular merit
"and faithful fervices, during this feffion of parliament,
"and for the better fupport of the dignity of his high
"office and station, as speaker of this houfe."

his Lordship received the thanks of the house of peers
for his great and unwearied attention to the service
of that house, fupported by the moft diftinguished
abilities during the then feffion of parliament 2, 21 De-
cember 1771 and 28 February 1774, we find these refo-
lutions repeated 3, as they were 18 December 1775; 22
December 1777; 21 Deccmber 1779; 15 December 1781;
15 December 1783; 5 April 1785; 13 March 1786; 4 and
a like refolution paffed in 1787, praying his Majefty to grant
to his Lordship a fum of 3000l. and as a further teftimony
of his Lordship's conduct in thefe elevated ftations, his
Majefty was pleased, by privy feal at St. James's 9 December
1780 5 and patent 6 4 January, to advance him to the dig-
nity of a Viscount, and he took his feat in parliament by the
title of Viscount Lifford 9 October 1781 7. His Lordfhip
is one of the judges of the Exchequer Chamber, and trea
furer to the honourable fociety of King's-Inns.

He married firft the only daughter of Rice Williams, D. D. of Stapleford-Abbey in Effex, Archdeacon of Carmarthen, and she deceasing in 1765 he married secondly Ambrofia daughter of Rev. Charles Bayley of Navestock in Effex, by whom he has George & now at Oxford; Ambrofia; Elizabeth; 9 and other childen. His Lordship's children by the first wife, were

James D. D. who married first 25 July 1779 HenriettaJudith, eldest daughter of Arthur, Lord Harberton, and by her who was born in June 1754, and died 22 April 1778, having no iffuę 10; he married a daughter of Rev. Doctor Oliver, by whom he has one fon James.

William-Williams, formerly in the army and late a banker of Cork, where he married the daughter of Thomas Strettle, Efq.
