PSALM LXIII. O GOD, Thou art my God alone : PSALM LXXII. HAIL to the LORD'S Anointed ! Great David's greater Son! Hail, in the time appointed, His reign on earth begun ! He comes to break oppression, To set the captive free; To take away transgression, And rule in equity. He shall come down like showers Upon the fruitful earth; Spring in His path to birth. Shall Peace, the herald, go; And righteousness, in fountains, From hill to valley flow. Arabia's desert-ranger To Him shall bow the knee; The Ethiopian stranger His glory come to see ; With offerings of devotion, Ships from the isles shall meet, To pour the wealth of ocean In tribute at His feet. Kings shall fall down before Him, And gold and incense bring ; All nations shall adore Him,, His praise all people sing ; For He shall have dominion O’er river, sea, and shore, Far as the eagle's pinion Or dove's light wing can soar. For Him shall prayer unceasing And daily vows ascend ; A kingdom without end. A seed in weakness sown, And shake like Lebanon. O’er every foe victorious, He on His throne shall rest ; From age to age more glorious, All blessing and all blessed. His covenant remove : That name to us is-Love, PSALM LXXVII. IN time of tribulation, Hear, LORD, my feeble cries; To Thee my spirit flies. Scarce can my voice complain ; Still watch and weep in vain. The days of old, in vision, Bring vanished bliss to view; The years of lost fruition Their joys in pangs renew : Remembered songs of gladness, Through night's lone silence brought, Strike notes of deeper sadness, And stir desponding thought. Hath GOD cast off for ever? Can time His truth impair? His tender mercy, never Shall I presume to share? Shut up in endless wrath? That cannot see His path. The years of His right hand, And, strong in His protection, Again through faith I stand. Thy deeds, O LORD, are wonder; Holy are all Thy ways: The secret place of thunder Shall utter forth Thy praise. PSALM CVII. THANK and praise JEHOVAH'S name; For His mercies firm and sure, From eternity the same, To eternity endure. Let the ransomed thus rejoice, In the wilderness astray, Then unto the LORD they cry; To a pleasant land He brings, Oh that inen would praise the LORD PSALM CXIII. SERVANTS of GOD, in joyful lays Blest be that name, supremely blest, Who is like God?—so great, so high, He hears the uncomplaining moan PSALM CXVI. I LOVE the LORD: He lent an ear When I for help implored ; Therefore I love the LORD. Return, my soul, unto thy rest, From God no longer roam; His hand hath bountifully blest, His goodness called thee home. What shall I render unto Thee, My Saviour in distress, So great and numberless? And thus Thy power proclaim: And call upon Thy name. Thou God of covenanted grace, Hear, and record my vow, While in Thy courts I seek Thy face, And at Thine altar bow: Henceforth to Thee myself to give, With single heart and eye, And bless Thee when I die. |
