ye would enquire something more perfectly concerning him: and we, or ever he come near, are ready to kill him.

16 And when Paul's sister's son heard of their lying in wait, he went and entered into the castle, and told Paul.

17 Then Paul called one of the centurions unto him, and said, Bring this young man unto the chief captain: for he hath a certain thing to tell him.

18 So he took him, and brought him to the chief captain, and said, Paul the prisoner called me unto him, and prayed me to bring this young man unto thee, who hath something to say unto thee.

19 Then the chief captain took him by the hand, and went with him aside privately, and asked him, What is that thou hast to tell me?

20 And he said, The Jews have agreed to desire thee that thou wouldest bring down Paul to morrow into the council, though they would enquire somewhat of him more perfectly.

as

21 But do not thou yield unto them for there lie in wait for him of them more than forty men, which have bound themselves with an oath, that they will neither eat ner drink till they have killed him and now are they ready, looking for a promise from thee.

22 So the chief captain then

ziyáda daryáft kiyá chahte ho : aur ham taiyár hain, ki wùh áne hí na páwe, ki use már dále.

16 Aur Paul ká bhánjá un kí ghát kí khabar sunke chálá, aur qile men jáke Paul ko khabar dí.

21 Par tú un kí na mániyo : kyúuki un men chálís shakhs se ziyáda us kí ghát men lage hain, jinhon ne qasam kí hai, ki jab tak use már na len, agar we kháwen yá píen, to un par lánat hai aur ab we taiyár hain, aur sirf tere wade kí ráh takte hain.

22 Tab fauj ke sardár ne us

let the young man depart, and charged him, See thou tell no man that thou hast shewed these things to me.

23 And he called unto him

jawán ko rukhsat kiyá, aur tákıd kí, ki Kisí se na kahiyo, ki tú ne mujh par yih bát záhir kí.

23 Aur do sábadár ho buláke

two centurions, saying, Makekahá, ki Kaisariya jáne ke liye do

ready two hundred soldier to go to Cesarea, and horsemen threescore and ten, and spearmen two hundred, at the third hour of the night;

24 And provide them beasts, that they may set Paul on, and bring him safe unto Felix the governor.

25 And he wrote a letter after this manner :

26 Claudius Lysias unto the most excellent governor Felix sendeth greeting.

27 This man was taken of the Jews, and should have been killed of them: then came I with an army, and rescued him, having understood that he was a Roman.

28 And when I would have

known the cause wherefore they accused him, I brought him forth

into their council:

29 Whom I preceived to be accused of questions of their law, but to have nothing laid to his charge worthy of death or of

bonds.

30 And when it was told me how that the Jews laid wait for the man, I sent straightway to thee, and gave commandment to his accusers also to say before thee what they had against him.

Farewell.

sau sipáhí, aur sattar sawár aur do sau bhálebardár pabar rát gaye taiyár rakho;

24 Aur janwar bhí házir karo, ki Paul ko sawár karke Felix hakim ke pás sahíh salámat pahuncháwen.

25 Aur is mazmún ká ek khatt likhá:

26 Ki Klaudius Lusias ká hákim Felix bahadur ko salám.

27 Is mard ko Yahúdíon ne pakaṛke cháhá, ki már dáleu: main fauj samet charh gayá, aur use chhuṛá láyá, aur málúm kiyá, ki Rúmí hai.

28 Aur jab cháhá ki daryáft karún, ki unhon ne us par kis sabab faryád kí, to use un kí kaunsil men legayá :

29 Aur payá, ki we apní shariyąt ke masla ke haqq men us par faryád karte hain, par koí wajah na thí, ki qatl yá gaid ke láiq họ. 30 30 Aur jad mujhe khabar milí, ki Yabúdí is mard kí ghát me lage hain, main ne use jhat tere pás bhej diyá, aur us ke muddạíou ko bhi hukm kiya, ki tere pás us par dawá karen. Ziyada

salám.

13 Then the soldiers, as it was commanded them, took Paul, and brougt him by night to Antipatris.

32 On the morrow they left the horsemen to go with him, and returned to the castle :

33 Who, when they came to Cesarea, and delivered the epistle to the governor, presented Paul also before him.

34 And when the governor had read the letter, he asked of what province he was. And when he understood that he was of Cilicia;

35 I will hear thee, said he, when thine accusers are also come. And he commanded him to be kept in Herod's judgment hall.

31 Pas sipáhíon ne, hukm ke muwafiq, Paul ko leke ráton rát Antipatris meu pahuncháyá.

32 Aur subh sawáron ko chhoṛke, ki us ke sath jáen, we gile ko phire :

33 Unhon ne Kaisariya men pahunchke hákim ko khatt diyá, aur Paul ko bhí us ke áge házir kiya.

34 Hakim ne parhke púchhá, ki wuh kis mulk ká hai. Aur málúm karke ki Kilikia ká hai;

35 Kahá, Jab tere muddaí házir honge, main terí sunúngá. Aur hukm kiyá, ki use Herodis ke mahall men qaid rakhen.

CHAPTER XXIV.

1 And after five days Ananias the high priest descended with the elders, and with a certain orator named Tertullus, who informed the governor against Paul.

2 And when he was called forth, Tertullus began to accuse him, saying, Seeing that by thee we enjoy great quietness, and that very worthy deeds are done u nto this nation by thy providence,

3 We accept it always, and in all places, most noble Felix, with all thankfulness.

4 Notwithstanding, that I be not further tedious unto thee, I

1 Pánch din bad Hananiyah sardár káhin ne buzurgon aur Tertullus námi wakil ke sath wahán jáke, hákim ke pás Paul par nálish kí.

2.3 Jab wuh bulayá gayá, Tertullus us par faryád karne lagá, ki Ai Felix bahadur, ham kamál shukrguzárí se hamesha har jagah iqrár karte hain, ki ham men tere sabab bahut árám miltá, aur terí dúrandeshí se is qaum ká khúb bandobast hota hai.

4 Par is liye ki tujhe ziyáda taklif na ho, main terí minnat

pray thee that thou wouldest hear us of thy clemency a few words.

5 For we have found this man a pestilent fellow, and a mover of sedition among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Naza

renes:

6 Who also hath gone about to profane the temple: whom we took, and would have judged according to our law.

7 But the chief captain Lysias came upon us, and with great violence took him away out of our hands.

8 Commanding his accusers to come unto thee: by examining of whom thyself mayest take knowledge of all these things, whereof we accuse him.

9 And the Jews also assented, saying that these things were so.

10 Then Paul, after that the governor had beckoned unto him to speak, answered, Forasmuch as I know that thou hast been of many years a judge unto this nation, I do the more cheerfully answer for myself:

11 Because that thou mayest understand, that there are yet but twelve days since I went up to Jeruralem for to worship.

12 And they neither found me in the temple disputing with any man, neither raising up the people, neither in the synagogues, nor in the city:

kartá hún, ki tú mihrbání karke hamárí do báten sun.

5 Ki ham ne payá, ki yih shakhs baṛí balá, aur dunya ke sab Yahúdíon men bará fasád uthánewálá, aur Násaríon ke firqe ká ek sardár hai:

6 Us ne koshish kí, ki haikal ko bhí nápák kare; us ko ham ne pakarke cháhá, ki apní shariyat ke muwafiq us par hukm karen: 7 Par Lusias sardár fauj samet áke use hamáre háth se chhín legayá,

8 Aur us par faryád karnewalon ko hukm kiyá, ki tere pás jáen: so ab ti khud use tahqiq karke in sab chízon ko, jin ke ham us par dawá karte, daryáft kar sakta hai.

9 Aur Yabúdíon ne bhí us ká sáth deke kahá, ki ye báten yunhín hai.

10 Paul ne hákim se ishára

pake jawab diyá, páke jawab diyá, Isliye ki main jántá hún, ki tú barason se is qaum ká hákim hai, main barí khátirjamąí se apná uzr bayán karta hún:

11 Kyunki tú daryáft kar saktá hai, ki bárah din se ziyáda nabín, jab main Aurshalím men bandagi karne gayá.

12 Aur unhon ne haikal men mujhe na kisú ke sath bahs karte payá, na logon men fasád uṭháte, na įbádatķhánon men, na shahr

15 And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.

16 And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men.

17 Now after many years I came to bring alms to my nation, and offerings.

18 Whereupon certain Jews from Asia found me purified in the temple, neither with multitude, nor with tumult.

19 Who ought to have been here before thee, and object, if they had ought against me.

20 Or else let these same here say, if they have found any evil doing in me, while I stood before the council;

21 Except it be for this one voice, that I cried standing among them, Touching the resurrection of the dead I am called in question by you this day.

22 And when Felix heard these things, having more perfect

13 Aur na un chízon ko, jin kí we mujh par ab tuhmat karte, sábit karsakte hain.

14 Lekin tere sámhne yih iqrár kartá hún, ki jis ráh ko we bidát kahte hain, usí par apne báp dádon ke Khudá kí bandagi kartá kún, aur sab ko, jo shariyat aur nabion kí kitáb men likhá hai, mántá :

15 Aur Khudá se yih ummed rakhtá hún, jis ke we bhí muntazir hain, ki murde jí uthenge, kyá rástbáz, kyá nárást.

16 Aur main isí se koshish kartá hún, ki hamesha Khudá ke aur logon kí bábat merá dil mujhe malámat na kare.

17 Ab kaí baras bad main nazar chaṛháne, aur apni qaum ko khairát pahuncháne áyá hún.

18 Is men Asia ke báze Yahúdíon ne mujhe haikal men pák páyá, na hangáma aur fasád uţháte:

19 Unhen chahiye tha, ki tere sámhne házir hote, aur agar mujh par kuchh dawá rakhte, nálish karte.

20 Ya yihí khud kahen jab main kaunsil ke sámhne khaṛá thá, mujh men kuchh badí páí;

21 Magar hán, isí ek bát ke liye, jo main ne un ke bích khaṛá hoke pukárá, ki Murdon ke jí uthne ke sabab main áj ądálat men khínch áyá.
