a beautiful, perfectly symmetrical masterpiece. the beginning mirrors the end while the individual and the family are presented as microcosms for the village. the ending happened exactly as it should have if your eyes were opened. he has quickly become one of my favorite authors.

Although there were moments that I felt I was on a bad acid trip soaring on a magic carpet over Incest Island, I relished in this enchanting tale of the beginnings of a civilization infused with wonderous magical realism. Garcia is a truly gifted artist who turns poetry into an intricately woven tale of a blood line of legend.

Ignoring the indexing by day of year rather than page, the indexing is off.
Duck with nectarine, September 8, merely ok, needs very large wok and cleaver. Too much work for merely ok result.
