A delightful and affordable edition of the masterpiece: This 75 page edition is an efficient and likeable publication.
The book includes the famous Rime of the Ancient Mariner (with side notes) and Kubla Khan as well as 20 or so others.
The layout and print font are easy to read and the absence of an introduction spares the reader from facing mumbled opinions of the elite university members who usually appear in these books.
Affordable reading from Dover. Thoroughly recommended, especially for those who have never read Coleridge and don't want to spend large amounts of money on something they may not like.
Once again, well done Dover Publications.

Of course, these poems are great. I revisited these on a whim and I'm glad I did. I forgot how much of a narrative bias Coleridge had.

This Dover edition is ho hum. Nothing but the bare poems, but hey, my copy cost me $1. ( )

I would give "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner" or "Kubla Kahn" five stars easily, but a lot of the poetry in the book beyond that didn't do much for me. Samuel Taylor Coleridge is a brilliant writer of the more supernaturally minded poems, and his verses of love are generally rather good. Personally, I'm a bit uncomfortable reading this, as I really haven't a lot of experience with anything beyond the epic poems. ( )

Taste in poetry is rather individualist, but here are my thoughts on this book.

Most of Coleridge's poems in this (very cheap) collection do little to me. Christabel and Kubla Khan in particular are florid but insipid. The narrative in the Rime of the Ancient Mariner (which is its call to fame) is somewhat engaging, but falls flat as many times as it rises. ( )

This is a scrumptious taste and introduction to the poetry of Samuel Taylor Coleridge. Many of the thoughts and poems seem downright modern to me. I love much of his imagery; the issues and emotions evoked are very moving and worth pondering. I will definitely seek out more of his work to read. ( )

A classic collection. What better way to wind down a rainy afternoon than by escaping into the rich fantasy world of an opium addict?
Coleridge really knew how to interest his readers interruptions from Porlock or no. ( )
